The Thunderbird is such a recogniziable symbol in the Native culture, it represents power, protection and strength, he is so powerful he can even transform himself into a human by taking off his feathers and opening his head up like a mask.
The Thunderbird has always been special to me. When I was 12 I was gifted my very first piece of turquoise, a Fred Harvy Thunderbird ring, that I still have today, from there my love of turquoise began.
The earrings are made from blue, gold, red, orange and black seed beads, a thunderbird with simulated turquoise hangs in the middle.
The earring hangs a little under 3 inches and is approximately 1-1/2 inches wide at the widest point. These are a good sized hoop, but also light weight when wearing
